Dior 17 box | Paris
An underground room, a temporary installation composed of ten boxes. Refined black lacquer boxes, full of shapes, materials and colors from which to draw inspiration. One next to the other, in two parallel rows, numbered and linked together by threads that join around the name that gives a sense to them.

The graphic project, together with the architectural one (Barbarito Bancel architectes), creates space, differentiates the shapes and surfaces, establishes the cadence that animates the place, gives unity and multiplicity to the otherwise only juxtaposed planes . Drawing inspiration from the typeface of the Dior brand, the soft and rounded shape of the numbers that distinguish each box and are connected, almost hanging, to the D that recalls, but does not imitate, the initial of Dior. And from each of the boxes, a line departs, a thread that intersects with the others with a wide movement, as in the texture of a fabric and once reached the wall, it climbs and creates an architecture around the name.

The pink hue, warm but not bright, chosen for both the lettering and the lines, sets an intense dialogue with the black of the boxes and a softer one with the gray of the floor and wall, activating a resonance between the two achromatic colors.
